Aru Shah is a great storyteller. When some of her more popular classmates catch on that her "stories" about fancy vacations and her being royalty are lies, she is placed in a problematic situation. In order to impress her classmates, Aru lights an ancient lamp and unintentionally frees an ancient demon bent on destroying the world. Aru must find the reincarnations of the legendary Pandava brothers, travel through the Kingdom of Death, and stop the Sleeper before he brings about the end of the world in nine days.
